24 January 2020 @ 09:30 - 13:30
DEKKO Comics - educational comics that turn school curriculum content into engaging comic strips.

DEKKO Comics are educational comics that turn school curriculum content into engaging comic strips, smashing motivational barriers to reading and learning.

Training Outcomes / Aims

Rossie Stone will discuss his struggles at school due to his dyslexia and provide examples of the benefits of using entertainment to educate.

The workshop encourages teachers to think about how they can adapt their material to effectively engage with everyone in their class more efficiently.

By the end of the session, the teachers should have all they need to respond to the needs of their students and to explore the various options available to them for making sure that the way they are presenting their lessons is beneficial for all.

Training led by: Rossie Stone
Rossie is the creator and founder of Dekko Comics, an educational comic which takes lessons presents them in an entertaining and engaging way. He discovered this method while struggling at school having been diagnosed with Dyslexia. Since school, he has graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, started the company, held TEDx talks and workshops across the UK and helped spread his belief that 'Learning is never boring, but how it is presented very often is.' Dekko asks what we could do if it wasn't?
